Why Buy From Us?

In a mattress world filled with over marketed products, we sell our mattress based on substance, not fluff.  We use high density foams covered with traditional damask fabric. We customize size at no extra charge and do cut corner mattresses with a minimal charge.

All mattresses are not created equal.

Why our mattresses are superior?

  • Our products are engineered to meet the needs of your RV.  We understand that RV commonly use platform bed design.
  • We use high density foams. The higher the density, the higher the quality (ie. support, durability, and the ability to bounce back and maintain its shape.)
  • IFD (formerly ILD) is the compression factor in foam, it determines how hard or how soft the foam will be and how much it will compress. We use medium compression foams for platform bases, which offer proper support  and will not fully compress (bottom out).
  • Since it will not fully compress, you wont feel the board from the bottom of the platform bed.

Why so many sizes?

  • Regular mattresses come in standard sizes (Twin, Full, Queen, King, etc.) but RV/Boat mattresses can come in a variety of sizes based on space requirements.
  • Our mattresses are made to order and ship in 5- 10 days.

Our Warrantee

  • Sofa-Bed-Mattress.com warrantees its RV/Boat mattress to be free from manufacturer’s defects for a period of five years from the date of purchase.
  • This warranty does not apply to the mattress cover.
  • All mattresses covered by this warranty must be returned in sanitary condition, (no stains,) and the customer is responsible for all shipping costs.
  • We will replace or repair the mattress during the warrantee period at no additional cost to our customer beyond the freight charges.

Memory Foam - Why a Laminate?

Visco Elastic Memory foam has the following characteristics

  • Memory foam cradles the body while creating a plusher top feel to the mattress.
  • Memory foam  senses your body’s weight and temperature and adjusts to mold to your body.
  • Comfort layer - absorbs body pressure.

Memory foam molds to the body(slow recovery) and needs to be supported by a base. We use a base of High Density Foam which is an instant recovery foam. Memory foam is designed to be used as a comfort pad, the support comes from the laminated high density foam base.

Memory foam, used in a mattress, without a base will not offer the body proper support. When used as a topper pad over an existing mattress, the mattress underneath becomes the support base.

All About Foam

Specifications for our 5” Deluxe:

  • 1.8 density 26ILD
  • medium firm feel
  • great support and a high degree of motion separation when 2 people are sleeping

Specifications for out 8” Deluxe:

  • 1.8 density 26ILD
  • medium firm feel
  • ultimate support and a high degree of motion separation when 2 people are sleeping

Specifications for our 8” Memory Foam Laminate:

  • 2.5" of Visco-Elastic Memory foam laminated to 5.5" of 1.8 density 26ILD polyurethane foam
  • Memory foam cradles the body while creating a plusher top feel to the mattress.
  • Memory foam  senses your body’s weight and temperature and adjusts to mold to your body
  • Memory foam mattresses (like all high density foam) have a very high degree of motion separation. Unlike innerspring mattresses, when you move during the night, your partner will be minimally disturbed due to the lack of reciprocal motion transference.

IFD/ILD (Indentation Force Deflection / Indentation Load Deflection) :

  • The Indentation Force Deflection (IFD) or Indentation Load Deflection (ILD) number represents the amount of force required to indent a foam sample by a specified percentage of its original thickness.
  • IFD (formerly ILD) is the term used to describe the firmness or softness of polyurethane foam. Visit http://www.pfa.org/jifsg/jifsgs4.html for more information.

Density:

  • Density is a measure of the weight of material per unit volume (lbs/cu-ft.) It is one of the most important of all form properties. The lower density, the more air spaces there are in the foam.
  • High density foam products generally offer a great deal of support.

How Density and IFD/ILD affect foam performance:

  • High density foams can be made very soft.
  • Low density foams can be made very firm.
  • There is no such thing as a "hard" or "soft" density.
  • There is a difference between firmness and support.

Other Factors:

  • Foam durability, flex fatigue and compression set are other terms related to foam performance. We concern ourselves with all of these factors.
  • There are books written about the physics and chemistry of foam. For more information we refer you to the "Polyurethane Foam Association". Their web address is http://www.pfa.org.

Our Warrantee:

  • Sofa-Bed-Mattress.com warrantees its sleeper sofa bed mattress to be free from manufacturer’s defects for a period of five years from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to the mattress cover. All mattresses covered by this warranty must be returned in sanitary condition, (no stains,) and the customer is responsible for all shipping costs.
  • We will replace or repair the mattress during the warrantee period at no additional cost to our customer beyond the freight charges.

Mattress Care

  • It's a good idea to turn your mattress every few months, or every few years if you rarely use it.

  • Use a mattress protector (pad.) A washable mattress protector will go a long way towards keeping your mattress new. (See our recommendation.)

  • Spot removers may be harmful to the fabric and/or foam. Use them with caution. It's better to use a little mild soap with cold water. Never soak a mattress.

  • Do not bounce on your mattress or sofa bed.
